Brandneu, frisch ab Presse die neueste Version (und hoffentlich letzte...):
This is not the final version, some changes have been made already: e.g. "Standortgespräch" --> "Standortbestimmung"!!!
Example documents of a hard diploma lesson:
THE MASQUE OF THE RED DEATH text.doc
Lesson Plan.doc
edgar allan poe.doc
edgar allan po1.doc
(please take note that this is probably the hardest text that I have ever set as an exam story – to a student I knew
was brilliant – who did get her 6 with this, too)
Other stories that I have recently used:
mankind.doc
machine.pdf
store of the worlds.pdf
painful case Joyce.pdf

Points to consider-diploma.doc
Post all your questions about the diploma lesson here:
It's difficult to ask questions when you don't know much about the subject. So please start with the basics, not forgetting useful tips and tricks, of course.
Could you also talk about the 15-minute exam mentioned in the document above?
Cheers,
Mark
Andrea H. :
1. Do students know that we are teaching a ‘diploma lesson’?
2. Can we use the lesson plan model, which we are usually working with?
(The sample lesson plan didn’t seem very transparent to me)
3. What is most important: smoothness of the lesson, methods, material, content, realisation ….
I mean, how do you define a good diploma lesson? :)
Marion:
What makes a diploma lesson fail?
How long in advance do we know what we are required to teach?
Eliane
1. Please describe the best diploma lesson you've ever seen. Why was it so good?
2. Please describe the worst diploma lesson you've ever seen. Why was it so bad?
3. What are 3 common mistakes (i.e. things to avoid)?
4. How many students actually fail the exam each year??
5. What's the average grade?
6. Are the classes usually (more or less) "nice" classes (are they carefully chosen?)? Or in other words: can we expect them to really have read the text??
7. Can we use just any format for the lesson plan? The "The Masque of the Red Death" LP seems a bit strange to me.. Don't we have to include points like aims, anticipated problems etc.)?
